COUPLES
These photos are about you and your partner. I will be documenting the genuine connection and interactions between you two. With that said, as a documentary style photographer, I will not be posing you but more encouraging you to embrace in different ways that feel comfortable to you both. I will then of course provide prompts as needed. However, if I’m silent it’s because you’re doing all the right things. If you’re going to remember anything I say here, remember this: when you don’t know what to do, look at each other, touch, and don’t stand still.
Whether we’re celebrating an engagement, anniversary or “just because we’re an awesome couple” - a couples session is always a good idea! I always encourage my couples to make a night of this. After photos go grab a nice supper and a drink! So, consider this your nontraditional date night, with me, your new favorite third wheel :)
The most common thing I hear as a photographer is “we’re so awkward!” As far as this goes, the best advice I can give is just relax.

Outfits - I suggest wearing clothes that are comfortable and true to your individual styles. If you’re not comfortable it’s going to show. Light colors work best. Pick a colour scheme and plan around that to complement one another. Skip the big logos, large prints and the color BLACK.
Location - lets choose somewhere that is special to you two! Maybe the first place you met. Maybe you both love to play golf, drink craft beer or eat ice cream. Maybe you spend a lot of time on the fishing boat, skate park, or at home on your couch. Wherever it may be, if it’s special to the both of you, the more relaxed you’ll appear in your photos. If you absolutely can’t think of a location, please let me know as I have a few great ideas to choose from!
I can’t wait for our date!!!!
